    Beijing Geriatric Hospital, located northwest of Summer Palace in Haidian District of Beijing city, is a Beijing municipal general hospital at the level of Grade III, and also a clinical teaching base of the six clinical medical college of Capital Medical University.
    Founded in 1949, the hospital has a long historical standing. In 2001, it was re-established from Beijing Chest Hospital and named as Beijing Geriatric Hospital. Nowadays, it has 600 patient beds available, 22 departments and 10 medical services, which undertakes the medical treatment, the scientific research, the teaching and the nursing training of senile diseases in Beijing city, and provides the comprehensive services for the senile treatment, rehabilitation, prevention and health improvement.
    The hospital, with an area of 170,000 square meters, is covered with ancient trees in the woods, thick green plants and winding paths leading to secluded spots, and surrounded by birds' song and flowers fragrance, having a beautiful natural environment and a green environmental protection campus with the fresh air. So it's known as a "natural air anion bar" and has a reputation of the "flower garden-styled hospital".
    In the upcoming 5-10 years, it will be established into a hospital with a certain scale (up to 1000 beds), which will enjoy the advanced equipment and the various functions suitable for the Capital construction and development; into a hospital which can meet the requirement of five "first-classes"; first-class techniques,first-class equipment,first-class service,first-class management,first-class environment,all applied to the treatment,the prevention,the scientific research and the teaching for senile diseases in Beijing city.
